What Friends Are For

The shopping list for this trip began life as a modification of a trip list I had made for my combined Caribbean Cruise, RV Trip and Ecuador trip. That got merged with the field gear list suggested by the Macaw Project, and voila. Hence the shopping list which included size AAA and AA batteries, a portable CD player (in which to use the batteries), a digital camera, an alarm clock ("which will wake" me), rubber boots ("which you will live in"), Birds of Peru field guide, zip-lock bags, dessicant and lots of quick-drying clothes. As Dave often or even always does, he came to the rescue arms loaded, thereby allowing me to cross off several items, including batteries, a camera, a CD player, blank CDs and other things.
I spent a couple of hours today trying to fit everything that Don sent me and that I had assembled into the two bags I'm thinking about taking. It all seems to fit, the bags measure under the maximum dimensions allowed, and weigh ever so slightly less than the weight maximum.
